Project Brainstorm

 1. My first thought is Greek goddesses. This is a very wide variety of information and that would allow the story to truly be taken in any direction that I wanted. I was thinking of doing a Real Goddess of Ancient Greece, similar to the Real Housewives of Orange County. I am interested in this because there are so many myths written in Ancient Greece but very rarely are they from the woman's perspective. The women, however, often drive the story lines and they are the ones who put the curses on people or fight with the gods.

2.  My second thought was the Norse gods. They, similar to the Greek, have a lot of drama and a lot of key players. I wanted to do an actual rendition of these Norse gods within the Marvel universe. They are thrown in there and they are main characters, but are they truly depicted the way they should be. I love the Norse mythology and how much it differs from those that are well known. I want to research further into who would be responsible for things that occur across the nine realms and how they got to be in that position.

3. My third thought was Fairy Tale Villains. It has become more popular in recent days to tell the villain's side of the story, but what if they were truly trying to help. I think it would be interesting to dive further into the psychological motives of each of the villains. This would be justification for their side of the story. I am interested in this because I love fairy tale books. They create such a beautiful worlds to dive into and forget yourself. However, the villains also live in these worlds. They are citizens there too and that causes them to want to better the world around them.

4. My final thought was about the Greek Titans. They are often overlooked in many modern retelling of the mythologies. I think that who they are and how they lived before these mythological tales take place. They each have a power or a purpose that kept them in power. I think that it would be cool to do their lives in a growing up teen type of story.

Introduction to Me

Hi! I am a junior at the University of Oklahoma. I am studying psychology with a health and exercise science minor. I love psychology because I think people are very interesting. I do not think people realize how similar they are to other people. I think studying psychology has helped me immensely learn how to work with and adapt to those around me both in personal relationships and in work relationships. Over my two years, I have taken some really interesting courses. I think my favorite so far has been social psychology because I think that there is a lot to be learned about those around us. However, my most challenging class was anatomy. I learned so much about the human body and how phenomenal it is that all of these parts work together to create and function us as human beings. As interesting as it was, it was an extremely difficult course. I was pushed to the point of stress I didn't even know I had. I am a better student because of anatomy but in the moment I was overly str...

Week Twelve Story: The Horned Women

The Horned Women  by Joseph Jacobs There was a woman who lived in a cottage. She lived with her family and her staff. One night, after they had all gone to bed she stayed up preparing wool. It was a quiet night until she heard a knock.  "Who is there?" she asked. "I am the Witch of One Horn" she answered. Assuming it was one of her neighbors in need of help, she answered the door. To her dismay, it was not a neighbor. A woman with a horn on her forehead entered the room.  "Where are the others?" she grumbled "They always take so long".  The homeowner was very confused. The witch had made herself at home. It was not long until she heard another knock on the door. Reluctantly she answered it. Standing outside was a woman with two horns on her forehead. The witch charged in to join her sister. Within the hour, ten more arrived. The last having twelve horns on her forehead. They had made a large circle in the room. They were spinning a thread on thei...
